To build and maintain a high-performing support engineering team, I recognized the importance of fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and individual growth. As the team expanded, I focused on implementing strategies to keep team members motivated, engaged, and aligned with our objectives.

Actions:

Developed a strategic plan encompassing team objectives, streamlined processes, performance metrics, and career development pathways to provide clarity and direction.

Implemented team-building activities to foster camaraderie and strengthen relationships within the team.

Created dashboards and reports using Zendesk Explorer and Jira to track individual and team progress, providing visibility into key performance indicators such as quarterly goals, daily first response time, and number of tickets closed.

Introduced KPI performance metrics and conducted performance reviews on a quarterly, 6-month, and yearly basis based on the 9-box grid to provide regular feedback and development opportunities.

Prioritized open communication and active listening, fostering a supportive environment where team members felt heard and valued.

Implemented a goal-setting framework based on the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) to align individual efforts with team and company objectives.

Results:

Through these initiatives, I successfully built and mentored a high-performing support engineering team characterized by strong collaboration, high levels of motivation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
